August 5th of this year will long be remembered as the date when there was a sharp decline in stock prices on global exchanges. Against this backdrop, the value of CS2 skins remained almost unchanged: the items lost slightly more than 1% in value. This data was provided by the service Pricempire.
The comparison was made with the most significant indices in the markets of America and Asia, as well as with the bitcoin exchange rate. Thus, the value of bitcoin plummeted by 10%. The index reflecting the value of the 100 largest capitalization companies on the American exchange fell by 4.77%. The Japanese index Nikkei 225 also declined, losing 12.4%.
So, compared to the serious metrics listed above, the value of CS2 skins remains "high"! That's why there is the notion that such in-game items are reliable investments.
And we remind you that the total value of all skins in Counter-Strike 2, according to estimates by the service Pricempire, is approximately 3.4 billion dollars. We also want to remind you which items are the most expensive and promising in 2024.
Currently, the most expensive is the Karambit Case Hardened (pattern 387) in factory new condition: it is valued at 1-1.5 million dollars, with the owner remaining unknown.
Next is the AWP Dragon Lore in its souvenir version. Its price is about $230,000 and can exceed this value (depending on condition, and sticker presence). The skin's appeal is increased by the fact that it has been highly rated by top CS2 player s1mple.
The honorable third place for the most valuable and promising skins is occupied by the AK-47 Case Hardened with pattern 661. Its price, depending on the condition and presence of stickers, varies within the range of $30,000 to $150,000.
Also among valuable specimens, we note the M4A4 Howl (up to $35,000), skins for Butterfly knives, M9 Bayonet Sapphire, Karambit (up to $7,000), and the Blood Web knife in factory new condition (up to $11,500 per specimen). It is quite possible that they will further increase in price in the future.
